Abstract :
Many industrial and biomedical processes involve powders and droplets; the electrostatic charges in these powders and droplets often play an important role in the process involved. The electrical single particle aerodynamic relaxation time (ESPART) analyzer has been shown to measure the particle size distribution and the electrostatic charge distribution of particles and droplets very accurately. Improvements in the E-SPART analyzer enable the measurement of the net charge-to-mass ratio up to ±80 μC/g. Highly charged particles and droplets were generated using a spinning disk aerosol generator and subsequent sampling was done by the E-SPART analyzer.
