Abstract :
A representation is proposed for a complex knowledge base. The representation is used to define the relations that may exist between a pair of rules. The relations defined are cause-effect, mutual exclusion, redundancy, conflict, subsumption, implication, and unnecessary condition. An algorithm to detect these relations is presented, and its application to power systems is discussed
