Abstract :
Free-flap reconstruction of mandibular defects has become the modern standard of care. However, because of each patient has different shapes of mandibular, doctors just depend on their experience to reshape individually. So preoperative planning is a good way to solve this problem This paper proposed a GPU based volume rendering interactive functions for reconstruction of the mandible, such as mirroring, cutting, measuring operations under arbitrary direction to the reconstructed image and applied it to virtual surgery simulation of mandibular reconstruction. The results show that the proposed method can be regarded as a good guide for operation.
