Abstract :
In order to systematically investigate the effect of a power frequency magnetic field on an image of a computer monitor, a Merritt-type coil was constructed which is enable to produce uniform field space inside the coil. The magnetic field which causes the inception of flicker was experimentally obtained. Furthermore, examination was made on the reduction in magnetic field inside a shielding box which was developed for the minimization of such a flicker problem. The quantification of environmental magnetic field inside houses is also evaluated.
