Abstract :
There are a number of options which can be taken at the end of the first life of a product. These include recycling, remanufacture, upgrade, resale/reuse and disposal. This paper presents a comparison of the options for commercial and design parameters that represent telephone handset products and seeks to define key variables within each scenario and outline simple mathematical models to support the resolution of the trade-offs between scenarios
