Abstract :
This paper proposes a theory for the behavior of free-running or phase-locked oscillators that experience mutual injection pulling. The timeand frequency-domain responses are derived for each case and the profile of the resulting sidebands is calculated analytically. Experimental results obtained for two 1-GHz CMOS PLLs that are resistively coupled on-chip are presented
