            Abstract : 
The presented scheme evaluates the periodic autocorrelation function for p-ary m-sequences and differs from known schemes with respect to simplicity and low computational cost. The approach in the presented scheme is of a heuristic nature. As examples the periodic autocorrelation functions for ternary and quinary m-sequences are calculated
