Abstract :
The live line inspection device of poor insulators on DC transmission line was developed, and the distributed voltage along insulators on ±500 kV DC transmission line was inspected. The results show that the potential distribution of insulator string on DC transmission line is the same with that on AC transmission line, which is with U distribution, and affected more with the performances of single insulator. The inspection device can meet the requirements of live working inspection under ±500 kV DC transmission line. The research has the important meaning for reducing the outage duration of ±500 kV DC transmission line and improving safe and stable operation of power grid.
