Abstract
Of all the proposed resonant techniques the well-known phase-shifted full bridge converter remains one of the most attractive because it offers an easy way of achieving ZVS with a minimum of extra components added, which is essential for the high power applications (> 10 Kw). However this topology has the disadvantage that the switching devices, typically IGBT´s or MOSFET´s, have different switching and conduction losses, which becomes a significant drawback at high power level. The present paper presents a modified PWM control technique that retains the simplicity and the advantages of the full bridge phase-shifted converter and at the same time ensures equal switching and conduction looses for all the devices.
