Abstract
To keep the high availability of long EHV transmission lines at reduced phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground distances requires improving the successfulness of automatic reclosing. The authors propose a scheme offering a simple and efficient protection to limit the re-energization overvoltages at a low level and helping the place of the fault to recover.
