Abstract :
A tool for generating models for SMPS magnetic components is presented in this work. The aim of this tool is to make easy the generation of high accuracy models. It is not necessary that the user knows how to generate the model, the tool generates it by itself. Several modeling accuracy levels are provided by the tool. The effects that should be included in a model for high frequency magnetic components are also commented upon. A model which includes all these effects is also presented. The model is generated by means of a FEA (finite element analysis) tool, but the model generation is automatic, no user interaction with the FEA tool is necessary. The accuracy of the tool has been checked by generating models for several magnetic components and comparing their behavior with actual measurements
