Abstract
In this paper, the transmission and radiation properties of carbon nanotube (CNT) array are investigated experimentally. It has been found that the transmission of the waveguide is improved by installing the CNT array in the rectangular waveguide, indicating the CNT arrays can transport microwave energy efficiently. By comparing the radiations of microstrip Yagi-Uda antenna and microstrip patch with and without CNT arrays, it has been found that the loads of CNT arrays can change the radiations significantly. When the CNTs are excited properly by the antennas, part of microwave energy transports along the CNT array and radiates at the end of the CNT array, changing the radiation of the original antennas.
