Abstract :
The present technology for planning of electric power system (EPS) expansion supposes several stages, realization of which makes it possible to specify the structure and parameters of the system. The paper presents formalized interpretation of a hierarchical technology for planning of large EPS expansion, the stages of which are interrelated by transformation procedures of EPS variants, system models, parameters and choice criteria. The hierarchical technology is illustrated on the example of planning the expansion of the Unified EPS of Russia.
