Abstract
The paper deals with the design and manufacture of cable penetrations developed and manufactured in Hungary for application in reactor buildings of WWER 440 type nuclear power plants. The basic requirements and the working principle of the low voltage penetrations are described. Special attention is devoted to the hermetic and /spl gamma/-shielding system having a primary importance in protection of the environment in the event of an accident. Type tests and long term service experiences proving the reliability of penetrations are referred to. Some parameters of available products are also listed.
