            Abstract :
Recently, a demand of surveillance camera system covered with wide range is increasing for safety or crime prevention. However, ordinary surveillance camera system covers only a narrow angle direction and limited area range at a time. So far we have been investigating surveillance video system consisted of USB typed omni-directional cameras and PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) cameras. However, there are some problems on realtime response of PTZ camera and image resolution of omni-directional camera. Moreover, in case of USB typed omni-directional camera, the cable length between the camera and PC is limited. Therefore, as the number of the cameras installed is increased, the whole surveillance system becomes so complicated that it is difficult to realize a seamless surveillance system. In this paper, seamless surveillance system by omni-directional camera network is proposed by using multiple omni-directional cameras which has Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.
