Abstract :
Although the dynamic range DR of both voltage and current mode feedback amplifiers employing MOSFETs is ultimately limited by the maximum power supply voltage V(PS) available, the DR of current mode feedback amplifiers whose feedback network contributes significant noise can be readily improved for a given V(PS) by increasing the value of the maximum output current, whereas the DR of voltage mode amplifiers is the same at the input and output and cannot be improved. This comparison is extended to feedback stabilized YT and ZT amplifiers. Theoretical limitations for a realization of these advantages and a design example are presented
