Abstract :
A 3D-finite element technique is described for the simulation of the acoustic noise generation process of magnetic origin in a Lundell alternator. The time dependent magnetic forces are approximated from static frames at different rotor positions. The spectral distribution of the applied forces is key to the evaluation of the noise performance
