  • Abstract
In this paper TCSC controller is designed based on linear matrix inequality (LMI) control theory for a multimachine system. Anderson´s 3-machine 9-bus system model is used to discuss the robustness of the proposed method, in which the load is power-constant model. LMI-based H/sub /spl infin// control theory is successfully used to design a TCSC controller to improve robustness, which can realize adjustment of control speed by adding pole placement constraint, neglecting weighting matrix. The pole region placement based on system´s dominant poles may be applied to various visual control designs. The load model in this paper is simple and some difference would be found against actual load.
