Abstract :
In this paper, the effect of thyristor controlled series capacitor (TCSC) on load flow redistribution in the Hellenic power system is investigated both with the present configuration of the network and with the perspective of the Italy-Greece electrical interconnection. Different control strategies for each case have been applied and conclusions are drawn for the impact of TCSC installation in the Hellenic 400 kV transmission system.
