Abstract
In this digest, we present a novel adaptive antialiasing method using combined wavelet-Fourier transforms for enhancement of mobile imaging systems. The proposed method can remove aliasing artifacts while preserving high-frequency details using frequency-domain analysis and adaptive shrinkage of wavelet subbands. The proposed algorithm consists of three steps; i) wavelet transform of the input degraded image, ii) analysis of Fourier transform coefficients and aliasing reduction in the LL subband of the wavelet transform, and iii) selective reduction of aliasing artifacts according to the classification between details and aliased components in the LH, HL, and HH subbands. Based on experimental results, the proposed algorithm can successfully remove aliasing artifacts while preserving high visual quality.
