  • Abstract
    The TMS32020 digital signal processor is a second-generation member of the TMS320 family of VLSI processor. It provides 544 words of on-chip data RAM and 128K words of memory space (64K words program and 64K words data). The TMS32020 possesses a 200 ns instruction cycle and single-cycle multiply/accumulate instructions. With the TMS32020, only about 20 ms are needed for a 1024-point complex FFT. The TMS32020 is applied to a machinery monitoring system, the data processing is greatly speeded up. This system can display real-time dynamic FFT spectra of data from an A/D converter, and therefore improve the monitoring ability of the system
