Abstract :
The IPSExpert Intelligent Training System is an expert system scenario-based application that delivers individualized training for both novice and experienced operators. The complex IPSE (integral patching and switching equipment) domain is captured with object-oriented programming (OOP) and rule-based reasoning presented to the operator through a graphics-oriented mouse and menu interface. The author discusses such issues as the tactical environment, the IPSE tactical training requirements, the learning environment of the IPSExpert, the IPSExpert prototype, and the implementation of the IPSExpert
