  • Abstract
    Progress in active fibers for high power fiber sources is discussed. The waveguiding geometry naturally lends itself to high-power diffraction-limited operation. Further refinements allow for the control of nonlinearities and wavelength. Fabrication advances mitigate photodarkening.
