  • Abstract
    The authors deal with an ESHLEP-N based expert system for FMS scheduling and simulation. The new extended stochastic high level evaluation Petri-nets (ESHLEP-N) were proposed, which are more suitable for modelling FMS. Based on the ESHLEP-N, a simulation expert system was built, which includes the new scheduling rules to dispose of no-inputs and full-outputs (blockings). The result of simulation has shown that: the new rules can increase the average throughput by some 9.93% as compared with the traditional rules; and the simulation expert system is very effective
