Abstract
A new type of hybrid electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structure is proposed for power plane noise suppression where each unit cell contains the combined features of a series high-impedance transmission line and a shunt capacitive load. An example is shown where a multi-octave fundamental stopband is demonstrated over a frequency range of less than 50 MHz to about 1650 MHz
