Abstract :
In this paper, the concept of simulating adaptive control of a turbine generator is developed based on a VME system using an OS-9 real time operating system. The ability to test and simulate a number of different control strategies for power system stability, by careful control of the excitation and governor systems, is developed. The VME system is a standard Eurocard rack based system using the VME bus specifications. The simulated controllers performances are obtained using a microalternator. The prime mover for the microalternator is a DC motor
