Abstract :
A variable structure controller is designed to control both the speed and phase of the drum motor in a home VCR. This control system is implemented by using a DSP (digital signal processor: TMS320C25). A variable structure control algorithm is employed for high robust performance and fast response characteristics. Details of hardware and software design are presented
