Abstract :
A multiexponentiality analysis of the 1H spin-spin and spin-lattice relaxation curves at 20 MHz of rat and human tissues is performed by iterative fitting procedures. Liver and thyroid biopsies from patients affected by various diseases and liver samples from Wistar rats in narrow and wide altered physiological conditions are investigated. The behavior of the multiexponential relaxation parameters are discussed on the basis of the results of a 2-D nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) time correlation analysis of water content, metabolically induced alterations, and changes at the cellular level
