Abstract
Radial force acting on the salient stator poles is the main source of electromagnetic vibration and acoustic noise for switched reluctance motor. In this paper, an analytical mathematical model is presented for the investigations of radial force characteristics and influence factors such as phase current, air gap length, rotor position and other structure parameter. The two-dimension finite element (2-D FE) was used to calculate the radial force and compared with the analytical model. Results show that the radial force calculated from analytical model can be well coincident with the data obtained by finite element method which is helpful for studding the design and control strategies for the vibration reduction.
