  • Abstract
A wide range of techniques have been proposed for adequacy evaluation in composite generation and transmission systems. This paper utilizes a test system to illustrate and compare the adequacy indices obtained using an analytical approach and a Monte Carlo simulation method. The paper presents the outage costs at the load buses and for the overall system using the cost of interruption data. The reliability worth implications of nonutility generation (NUG) injected into a composite generation and transmission system are illustrated by application to the test system
