Abstract :
A compound control system for a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) has been developed based on Virtual Instrument (VI) and Digital Signal Processor (DSP). In the traditional motor control systems, DSP is mostly used as the core controller, which has received good results with the PID control. However, this kind of control system has several disadvantages such as operation ability is not high enough for complex algorithms; long time is needed to develop the interface of the system. To overcome these shortages, a novel control system is proposed based on using the DSP and LabVIEW. The novel control system with high capability has been verified by simulation and practical measurements.
