Abstract :
This paper proposed an infrastructure of Web-GIS based interoperable SARS prevention information system, which can enable public participation in the activities of prevention against SARS virus and report SARS information to health cure center through the Internet. A GIS Java applet is used to show the GIS graphical user interface in Web, which makes the public collaborate with the relevant hygiene department, and health cure center. The public and medical workers can share the discovery of the virus source and monitor the area of SARS through this system. The system has adopted the system architecture based on J2EE, which can be easily to expand the system to large scale. Based on the system, we can analyze the SARS condition through artificial intelligence DSS, isolate the area of the developing virus source and find and control the condition within shortest time. The system functions of Web-GIS based interoperable information system and the key technological issues are investigated in this paper. A method for reporting and sharing the information of virus related GIS is also offered. It has important value for SARS prevention.
