Abstract
The paper deals with pilot-aided carrier recovery in single-carrier systems. The system model considered in the paper includes the frequency offset and the phase noise that come from the local oscillators used for up/down-conversion. A multistep interpolation method is introduced to estimate the phase error assuming that a sequence of equally spaced pilot symbols is available. Our analysis takes the statistical character of phase noise into consideration and obtains the optimal coefficient of pilot to estimate the phase noise. The method proposed in the paper is compared with other method in the previous paper through simulation.
