Abstract :
The authors present an electromagnetic-field analysis of a high-voltage insulator using the finite-element technique as a differential solution and preprocessor and postprocessor techniques for the data preparation and visualization of the results. First-order finite elements are used to process the numerical solution. The visualization of the results is presented in the form of equipotential lines and electric-field display and variation along specified lines
