Abstract
According to different characteristics, the 40 years development of Chinese enterprises management is divided into two stages. During this first stage from 1949 to 1978, after having changed organization structures and management systems, enterprises introduced a whole set of scientific management systems from the USSR, and gradually explored the management style suitable to China. As a result, preliminary management systems that could meet the demand of modern production were established. The second stage, from 1978 to now, under the policy of reform and open to the outside world, management emphasis on economy reconstruction led to the development of a socialistic planned commodity economy. Finally, it is recognized that enterprises are the main force of economy development and that management is key to enterprises
