Abstract :
This study focus on how international information from Taiwan based enterprises in China to influence on investment of Chinese services enterprises entered an Ethnic Chinese Market by Greenfield investment. It addresses two questions. First, what force drive Chinese services enterprises to entry in Taiwan? Second, how Chinese service based enterprises collected international information for learning internationalization from Taiwan based enterprises and Taiwan market? We found that Chinese service enterprises that invest Taiwan by Greenfield are more likely to seek the strategic assets for improving service quality and business administration, to seek in conformity with government policies, and to seek internationalization experiences. Most cases of State Own Enterprises included airline, wholesale & retail, restaurant, banking, their investment decision fully aware the institutional driving institutional factor of Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA). Chinese service enterprises that local government invested for learning internationalization, entering the Ethnic Chinese Market by Greenfield are more likely to depending on personal network of Taiwan based Enterprises in China, than due diligence process. They enter the Ethnic Chinese Market by Greenfield for learning internationalization are more likely to explore Asian market than other region market in next location of outward FDI, and more likely to mitigate their liability of foreignness by using the previous networks with Taiwan based Enterprises in China. Asian host countries might understand how to influence investment of Chinese service enterprises through their host-country based enterprises in China and helping to mitigate their liability of foreignness by personal or partner networks.
