Abstract :
In this paper, we will present the results of FTTH deployment status in Korea. In Korea, Korea Telecom has deployed FTTH with Ethernet-PON and WDM-PON. Since January 2008, 1.2 million numbers of FTTH infrastructures have deployed and among them, 0.7 million numbers of subscribers is now using the real - FTTH service. Furthermore, we made the world´s first deployment in GW-PON (Giga WDM-PON) system as an access network technology and provided IP-TV, VoD and Internet services for FTTH services. We have verified the performance of GW-PON as the apartment FTTH solution.
