Abstract
To achieve PON sharing by the next-generation network (NGN) and conventional best-effort-based network (BEb-NW), we propose to evaluate QoS-sensitive services carefully under BEb-NW degradation caused by high-priority NGN traffic and how to handle QoS-sensitive services in a BEb-NW. In a case study, we discuss how to handle a higher-priority class in the BEb-NW considering evaluation results under assumptions of services and packet traffic models of each service.
