Abstract
The authors discuss an integrated planning, scheduling, and control methodology for electronic assembly. The activities of a placement workstation for electronic assembly are addressed. Placement sequence planning, vision analysis, inspection, and control issues of the developed methodology are discussed. The placement workstation is hierarchically controlled by the electronic manufacturing cell controller. The activities of the flexible placement workstation are performed by the planning/scheduling and control modules. The methodology described has been implemented on ROBOTWORLD
