Abstract :
This paper proposes the seamless vertical handover mechanism for mobile networks using multihomed mobile access point (AP). Multihoming enables mobile networks and mobile nodes inside it to access the Internet with multiple paths. With this multihoming property, the proposed mechanism provides seamless vertical handover for mobile networks. We evaluated the performance of proposed mechanism over heterogeneous networks of WiBro (wireless broadband network) and HSDPA (high-speed downlink packet access). The result shows that the proposed handover mechanism outperforms the affiliates of mobile IPv6 protocols.
