Abstract
During the development of the Platform for Embedded System, it is an important problem to design the source-level debugger. The software will be very complex to design if we simulate the system only through software. On the contrary, if we do it only by hardware step support, user will feel that they have wasted much time during debugging. In the article, we raise an idea, which combine software with hardware. Based on this idea, we introduce HALF-SIMULATE which take care of the designer and is faster than only using hardware step support. We explain the method of designing the HALF-SIMULATE through analyzing the ARM instruction, and then compare it with the other two methods (only soft or only hard). In the end, we conclude that the HALF-SIMULATE method is better.
