Abstract :
Image analysis is used to estimate fluid velocity everywhere in a complex, two-dimensional, physical model of fractured porous rock. Cross-correlation provides an indication of flow direction and particle streak analysis is used in the calculation of flow velocities. Preliminary results are consistent with the predictions of lattice Boltzmann computer simulations
