Abstract :
We propose an effective access control scheme in broadband CDMA networks to provide multimedia services. In CDMA networks, appropriate access control scheme should be applied according to the service characteristics. In this paper, to solve this problem, different Eb/No is assigned to each service and an adaptive access control scheme is used. The proposed scheme is based on delay requirements of data traffic. If the delay of data traffic exceeds delay requirements, access control of transmission rates of video traffic starts. To evaluate the performance of proposed model, we perform simulation and analysis of the proposed scheme. As a result, the proposed access scheme shows that outage probability is decreased by allowing the delay of data traffic and decreasing the transmission rates of video traffic
