Abstract :
Quality of service guarantee is becoming a very important aspect in the field of multimedia communications. Researchers try to solve this problem for existing network service (best-effort service) by introducing different scheduling techniques and priorities. Then, new services have been introduced to provide a suitable environment for accommodating multimedia applications. These network services enable applications to reserve resources, prior to their start. To this time, several admission control algorithms have been introduced for admitting immediate and advance resource reservations. Our work extends these algorithms by introducing user interactions, which we believe that these interactions represent one of the most supported features of the recent multimedia applications. We implemented a simulation model to monitor the effects of user interactions on network resources, and on admitted flows
