Abstract :
Consistency maintenance technology has been used widely in various areas including text editing, image editing as well as computer-aided design etc. The previous research works in the image editing field, however, mainly focused on the consistency maintenance of the shared document which is based on object model. As for the bitmap-based document model, little research has been done to guarantee the consistency of the shared documents in the real-time collaborative environment. The paper analyzes the consistency maintenance strategies used before, constructs the bitmap-based document model, defines the operation conflicts in the new model, devises the conflict resolution strategy and describes the consistency maintenance work flow. Example analysis is also given to prove the effectiveness of the new strategy.
