Abstract
In this paper, we propose a new multi-symbol differential detection (MSDD) with linear interpolation (LI) based on symbol error position detection (SEPD) in order to improve the performance of differential detection system. To reduce the effect of symbol error, we estimate a symbol error position, and then compensate it with LI. Simulation results show that providing the soft-output to Viterbi decoder improves BER performance considerably as compared to the conventional differential detector in the high speed mobile multi-path fading channel.
