Abstract

A wavelet software package named Uvi Wave has been developed to help research and teach aspects of wavelets and applications in the field of digital signal processing. It has been implemented in the well known environment Matlab. A hypertext course in wavelets at graduate and undergraduate levels has been taught with the aim of exploring the results obtained by the students when achieving a knowledge by themselves by means of advanced multimedia tools. This paper describes the main functions of the package and the structure and objectives of the course performed at the Telecommunication Engineering School, in the University of Vigo, for graduate and undergraduate students
