  • Abstract
IEEE 802.16 systems adopt a semi-dynamic CQI channel allocation mechanism. In which, a tradeoff between allocation signaling overhead and fast-feedback region utilization rate has been found. However, it´s difficult to estimate overall performance. This paper proposes a new mathematical model named ´toy brick model´ for analyzing CQI channel allocation mechanism in IEEE 802.16 system. A simulation based on that model has been done to analyze an example algorithm. It proves that ´toy brick model´ is an efficient tool to estimate CQI channel index allocation algorithms.
