A Case Study of the Application of `Strategic Management of Technology and Innovation´ Concepts at Atech - Tecnologias CrÃ\xadticas, a Firm of the Brazilian Aero-Spatial Cluster

This job focuses on identifying the practices of Atech - Tecnologias Criticas, a firm of the Brazilian aero-spatial cluster, related to "Strategic Management of Technology and Innovation" during the development and market introduction of "ARES" (an integrated solution for logistic management), and the fit of these practices to the literature largely accepted about the theme. Also, it evaluates the relation among the verified practices, the firm\´s knowledge management and the market results obtained by the product. Initially, an analysis is made on the firm\´s technology management practices, as well as on its Innovation Cycle. Then, a field research is performed, in which the firm\´s Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) expresses his feeling about in what degree some selected theoretical concepts are present on the firm\´s management of technology and innovation, mainly in the development of "ARES". Additionally, he expresses his perception about the impact of these concepts on the market results obtained by the product. The conclusion of this job suggests in what degree the results obtained by "ARES" are associated with the firm\´s practices that fit the selected concepts and, finally, the relevance of the "Knowledge Management" in the firm\´s Innovation Cycle.
