Abstract :
This paper deals with an important issue in adjustable speed AC synchronous motor drive system design, selection of the system voltage rating. Using an integrated system point of view, voltage rating required to achieve a specified system dynamic performance under given motor design parameters is derived. Based on the analysis, a practical method to select the voltage is proposed. Simulation and experimental results show excellent agreement with prediction by the proposed method
